Nick is a PhD student doing research in condition monitoring of grease lubricated rolling element bearings in the SKF UTC (University Technology Center). Nick comes from Ohio and has a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and a MSc in Biomimetics in Energy Systems from the Kärnten School of Applied Sciences in Villach, Austria. His expertise in Mechanical Engineering is in experimental work, building things and problem solving. He now studies Instrumental Analysis and Experimental Mechanics.

Nick likes to build and repair things. He built a new type of continuously variable transmission for his BSc senior design project and continues mechanical work by repairing his car for fun, whether it needs it or not.
