Age effect on endurance
In this project I investigate the age-related changes in the endurance performance of athletes. In a first article,the results of all the Stockholm marathon in the years 1979 - 2014 were analyzed. The model shows that the average marathon runner's performance improved to 34.3 ± 2.6 years of age. After this age the performane drop. The deterioration accelerates with increasing age. Fortunately, other factors, such as exercise and lifestyle, also has a major impact on the runner's performance.
Dislocations in silicon
My thesis was about the dislocations in the semiconducting material silicon. I had a theoretical approach and carried out simulations using my own computer algorithms to determine the properties of the material.
I'm the co-supervisor in a PhD project where we study the peripheral circulation in hands using infrared cameras. PhD student Katarina Leijon-Sundqvist. Professor Yelverton Tegner is the main supervisor.
Communication with the radiology department
I am co-supervisor in a PhD project where we study the communication between medical doctors and radiology department. So far, focus group interviews were conducted with medical interns and district doctors to study their experiences of writing referrals to the radiology department. PhD student Johan Kruse. Assistant Professor Åsa Engström is the main supervisor.
I have an extensive teaching experience both in terms of level and student groups. My teaching experience at the university is equivalent to nine years of full-time teaching. Beyond that, I have had managerial positions (as study director, education coordinators, and head of division) that closely linked to teaching. Teaching has mainly been on Master of Science in engineering educations (both basic and advanced levels), the teacher education and in the education for radiographers.
I am also involved as teachers in the higher education courses offered by the HPC.
