Work summary
Research is focused on non-linear finite element simulation, particle based methods like smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) and particle finite element method. Main application areas are modelling of different granular processes, fluid structure interaction, silo problems and pulp. Powder compaction, milling of minerals and development of experimental methods are common problems. Main areas are development of material models, energy based crack models, damage in green bodies, crack energy measurements and studying of stress fields in the powder pressing process. Combining of different numerical methods into global physically realistic models are an important area of research. Residual stress fields, green strength and density distributions in green bodies are also studied.
