His research is focused on the isolation and characterisation of cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) from specific wood samples in small-scale utilizing chemically catalyzed procedures. His project is part of Nanowood, which together with Umeå Plant Science Center (UPSC) work to design trees through genetic engineering that has enhanced susceptibility to CNF isolation. The work done at LTU is focused on processing trees that have been grown at UPSC.
