Presentation of myself

My undergraduate degree is in teacher education for upper secondary school, subjects Swedish and religion. After working in upper secondary and secondary schools I became a PhD student in Teaching and Learning at Luleå University of Technology 2005. I defended my thesis on June 5 2009.

Presentation of my research

"Building an Ethical Learning Community in Schools" is my dissertation conducted in a grade 7-9 school. The aim of the dissertation was to explore the school as a site for ethical practice.

 

"School stinks"... or? To give voice to children's and youth's experiences of psycho-social health in their learning environment. Research project 2009-2011 (supported by the Swedish Research Council).

Valuable learning - The Positive Circle

In the book you can find narratives written by teachers, school leader, researcher, and children, that illustrate positive and important experiences in school.

In 2011 my and Catrine Kostenius book Uppskattningens kraft - lärande, etik och hälsa [The Power of Appreciation: learning, ethics, and health] was published.

School improvement

I have during the last years supported schools' own reform work. Between the years of 2006 and 2010, I  worked in a school improvement process, entitled Full of Value. The process aimed at promoting learning through the development of an ethical attitude. This involves both the psycho-social and the physical community of the school.

In spring 2009 Full of Value was nominated to a quality prize in Sweden, "Götapriset."

Since 2010 I work together with teachers, school leaders, and students, in another school area in the local region, supporting efforts to improve the learning environment.
