Register and publish your degree project
When your thesis is completed and approved, it must be made available in the publication database (DiVA). Your registration will be checked by the education administrator before publication.
1) Create a cover
The first thing to do is to create a cover before submitting your work to your examiner. For this, you need to have your thesis in PDF format. Before creating the cover, you should check that the PDF document meets accessibility requirements in accordance with the Web Accessibility Directive. You can also check the accessibility in Word before you create the PDF.
- Create and verify PDF accessibility External link.
Adobe Acrobat Pro provides testing tools for checking and correcting the availability of PDF documents.

2) Register your thesis in DiVA
Once your thesis has a cover and is approved by the examiner, it is time to register the thesis in the publication database.
It is important that you carefully follow the instructions in the manual or instructional video to ensure that everything is correct. Please note that in order to receive a confirmation of your registration, you must enter your department and your e-mail address.
3) Publish the thesis in DiVA
You decide whether you want to publish your thesis publicly, which means making it available through Google and other search engines. Publishing your student thesis publicly is a good way to market your knowledge and competences.
If you choose not to publish the thesis publicly, you should archive the pdf in DiVA. This is according to current procedures since the university is subject to the principle of public access to information. This means that a document, such as a thesis, after a confidentiality assessment, must be released when the public requests access to it.
You should have any films, music files and/or other attachments available as you also have the opportunity to upload them together with the thesis. Keep in mind that you must have copyright or the author's permission if you use images/film/music in your work.
- Guidelines for electronic publishing of theses and degree projects
The guidelines are only available in Swedish.
