Hi Cecilia. How are you doing in Canada?
Hey! I really like it here in Canada. The pace is a bit different from home because here I am taking five courses in parallel from September to December, but it actually works really well. In total we are three Swedes who are at MUN, one from LTU and one from Uppsala, but they are taking different courses than me and not only that, they live off campus! So I've been "forced" to get to know more new people, which is absolutely amazing and something I'm incredibly grateful for - while giving me some anxiety because we are already halfway into this semester. It will be hard to say good-bye in December!
Why did you choose to go there?
My friend Ellen, who is studying two years ahead of me, was here last fall and she loved it, so I put MUN (Memorial University of Newfoundland) as my first choice. St. John's, located as far east as you can go in North America, has amazing scenery and everyone here is very open and nice. It did not take many days until I started to feel "at home".
Would you like to send any words of wisdom to anyone thinking of going abroad?
Apply! And go!!! Not only because you will grow and develop in a way that I think is impossible if you choose to studying only in Luleå, but because above all else it's a lot of fun. Every day here is some kind of adventure, and memories and fun stories are created on a regular basis. There is no such thing as boring weekdays here!
