Luleå University of Technology's work on the climate framework for universities

Published: 12 August 2019

At the end of May, Vice-Chancellor Birgitta Bergvall-Kåreborn decided to sign the Climate Framework for Luleå University of Technology. Here you will find information on how the work is progressing.

KTH and Chalmers have worked out a framework with university-specific climate strategies, with the aim of engaging universities in Sweden to contribute to both the national and international commitments to reach the so-called 1.5-degree goal. This climate framework was offered to all universities.

The climate challenge requires change in all sectors of society. Universities have a central role in this work and we have an important task to contribute to the climate change through our teaching, research and collaboration, but we also need to reduce the climate impact from our own operations.
