Rules for parking

Here you will find information about where to find parking, what rules apply and how you can buy season passes or pay for short-term parking.

Parking in the university area of Luleå

Today there are a total of 1170 parking spaces in the university area of ​​Luleå, of which 775 are equipped with a engine pre-heater. During the winter season between 15/10 to 15/4, all parking spaces with engine pre-theaters can be rented short-term by ticket machines, mobile solution or season ticket (only for students and employees).

Within the university's outlying areas, a check is made that our facilities are accessible for traffic, that the parking spaces are available for parking, as well as supervises incorrectly parked vehicles.

Our signage and surveillance is carried out pursuant to the Act (SFS 1984: 318) on the control fee for unauthorized parking.

The University is not responsible for parked vehicles.

Parking space without heater that is not designated as a visitor parking space (zone 2) is still free of charge.

Payment of parking space

Short-term parking

At present the university offers two ways to pay a parking space for short-term parking:

  • Ticket machine that takes most common payment cards (VISA, Mastercard and Eurocard)
  • Mobile apps; Parkster or eParkera

Season ticket

Every autum students and employees are offered an opportunity to purchase a discounted season ticket for parking in parking areas with engine heaters (Zone 1) for 1,800 SEK per season. Please note that this season ticket does not include a guaranteed parking space.
