Upgrading Windows 10 is mandatory for security reasons and will run automatically from September 27.

Upgrading Windows 10 is mandatory for security reasons and will run automatically from September 26 for those who have not upgraded themselves at the institution ETKS, after that one institution will be updated a week, see the table below.

The update starts automatically after 18:00 on the date specified for your institution in the table. The update will not ask for any confirmation from you but will start as long as the computer has an internet connection and is running.

It is very important that you do not attempt to interrupt the installation, turn off the computer, or close the lid of the computer once the update has started.

If you want to control when the upgrade takes place, you can download it from the Software Center. We recommend that you do the update when your computer is connected with a network cable on an LTU campus, but this can only be done if you have an Internet connection. The upgrade takes about 70 minutes if you are connected via network cable at LTU.

To check which version you have today, you can right-click on the Windows flag in the menu bar and select the System option. There you can see under Windows specifications which version you have. The version we are upgrading to is 21H2.
