Remote Desktop

Use Remote Desktop (RDP) to connect from your home computer to an LTU server.

Requirements

  1. PC or Mac
  2. VPN

 

Instructions (Windows)

  1. If you're using a private computer, you need to connect via VPN. See link below.
  2. Search and start Remote Desktop Connection (installed in Windows)
  3. Connect to the desired server (for example stufarm.ltuad.ltu.se). Contact your institution for the correct server name.
  4. When Remote Desktop asks how you want to connect, select Use another account and type: LTUAD\username and your LTU password

 

Instructions (Mac)

  1. On Mac, you need to download and install Microsoft Remote Desktop (available for free at the App Store).
  2. If you're using a private computer, you need to connect via VPN. See link below.
  3. Start Microsoft Remote Desktop and click New
    PC Name: Enter the address of the server (eg stufarm.ltuad.ltu.se).Contact your institution for the correct server name.

    Gateway: No gateway configured
    Username: LTUAD\username
    Password: Your LTU password
  4. Close the box on the X to save the settings
  5. Mark the connection you created in My Desktops and click Start
