Arktisk vinterskola
UNIVERSEH Arctic Winter School i Kiruna (3 HP) – en veckas spännande föreläsningar och studiebesök med utgångspunkt i rymden, kulturen och Arktis. Du läser tillsammans med kursare från Belgien, Frankrike, Italien, Luxemburg, Tyskland och Polen. Alla programstudenter är välkomna att ansöka.

Alla programstudenter är välkomna att ansöka, du måste ha minst 7,5 avklarade poäng vid LTU. Urvalet grundar sig på urvalskriterier för utbytesstudier, med en jämn fördelning över olika program och institutioner som utgångspunkt.
Kursen ges under en vecka på Rymdcampus i Kiruna och två veckors hemarbete med viss distansundervisning. Godkänd kurs ger tre högskolepoäng.
Boende och tur och retur-resa till Kiruna betalas av UNIVERSEH. Även en del luncher och middagar ingår i kursen. Resor gäller inom Sverige.

- Environment and society in the changing Arctic.
- Nutti Sámi Siida – meet reindeers and experience the rich Sámi culture.
- Polar atmosphere and its significance for solar-terrestrial interactions, space weather.
- Auroral physics and observations.
- Optical phenomena in the Polar Regions.
- Snow and ice in different perspectives.
- Arctic climate systems and climate change.
- Nano satellites, rockets and balloons for polar research.

Examination
The school is assessed through assignments, practical and project work. In order to pass the course it is required that all compulsory tasks are completed satisfactory with a grade "Pass". The final grade for the course reflects the results obtained for all compulsory tasks and is given after all compulsory tasks are approved. The grading scale for the course is 3, 4, 5.
