I2P - Idea to print
The I2P project has already made possible that Luleå University of Technology now has its first metal 3D printer and can thereby offer services to help companies get started with 3d printing in metal.
The project is a collaboration in the Arctic region and is run by Luleå University of Technology (LTU), University of Tromsö (UiT), Future Manufacturing Technologies at Oulo University and the University of Arkhangelsk (NArFU). In the project, knowledge building will take place to help companies and organizations get started with this modern manufacturing technology. This technology has the ability to create components with lower weight, reduce inventory, shorten development times, increase customer adaptation and shorten time to market. Through this, it has the opportunity to change companies' ecosystems. In this collaboration, the technology will be demonstrated, a network of companies, academy and other organisations will be built and market opportunities will be investigated.
Project duration: September 2019 - December 2022
