In order to meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and documented skills in English language + Mathematics 2a/2b/2c (specifik entry A7). Or: Mathematics B (specifik entry 7)

The selection is based on final school grades or Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test.

Course Aim
The course aims to provide knowledge of basic mathematical concepts and methods to support the teaching of other courses where mathematical models and operations occur, and to provide skill in performing numerical calculations using current assistive technology.


Numerical calculation. Statistics. Equations and inequalities of the first degree. Formula Treatment. Geometry and trigonometry. Equation Systems, Linear and non-linear functions. Quadratic equations and equations of higher degree. Exponential and logarithmic function

The course is taught through lectures exercises and tutorials.Laboratory work may occur. Other forms of teaching can occur.

To pass the course requires approved individual written exams. The course is graded. Mandatory laboratory and / or assignments may occur. Alternative forms of examination may occur.
