Prior to the start of the study, the new students gathered at the occupational therapy program on campus in Luleå. The students gathered to get information about the university, the institution and Sweden's best occupational therapist training available at Luleå University of Technology.

More men study to become Occupational Therapists

Occupational Therapist is a profession of strong advancement. So far, it is predominantly women who work as occupational therapists, but now more and more men seem to find the profession. In a few years, the proportion of men in education has increased from ten to 16 percent.

Andrea Ingloff lives in Berlin, Germany, and study the distance programme to become occupational therapist. For her, it is the opportunity to get involved and influence another person's life for the better that attracts her to the profession.

Ikran Abdirahman, Uppsala, googled the occupational therapist profession and everything fell into place. Later that day she applied to the program. She feels a great support from the teachers and thinks the courses are exciting and interesting.
