At high school I studied the science program and thought it was interesting, I would also like to take advantage of what I learned during the previous school years. I have always had a dream of working in a rescue service.
Why did you choose to study Fire Protection Engineer?
Having the option to choose between working in rescue services, consulting firms and insurance companies, and the need for fire engineers.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I engage in BRINN, the Fire Engineers Association where I participate in the party group that organizes nights out and pubs for us, engineer students. I'm also playing indoor hockey with my classmates. On the campus there is also a gym which is also fun. You can also participate in different sports that are a bit more rare, for example, I have tried to play Lacrosse. When there is time over, I also work at a restaurant in town.
Do you have any advice for future students at LTU?
Engage in various activities on campus. Dare to try out new things and take care of the opportunities you get as a student. During my time at LTU, I have visited the mine in Kiruna, the ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi and now awaiting a walk up to Kebnekaise. The fun activities also make it possible to meet other students on campus. At the same time, more specific events like BRINN provide a fun and good insight into what a work as a fire engineer can mean. I appreciate that the education provides both internship and theory.
