Selection

The selection is based on 1-165 credits.



Course Aim

The course aims to provide students with general knowledge of life cycle assessment and life cycle costing in maintenance.
After completing the course the student should:
•    describe the environmental impact throughout a product's lifecycle
•    be able to perform basic life cycle cost analysis
•    to analyze the most cost effective maintenance alternative


Contents

The course covers:
•    reliability parameters
•    environmental impact throughout a product's lifecycle
•    methods for life cycle assessment
•    methods for life cycle costing
•    models and calculation methods
•    simulation tools to analyze life cycle costs


Realization

The course contains lectures, assignments, group work, and laboratory work. Compulsory attendance can be required. The course is given on campus with the opportunity to participate remotely.


Examination
Assignment reports (individual and group). Grading criteria for G 3 4 5 are described in study guide. Written reports of laboratory work.
