Luleå University of Technology is behind this website. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. This document describes how www.ltu.se complies with the law on accessibility to digital public services, any known accessibility issues and how you can report deficiencies to us so that we can fix them.

Technical information on website accessibility
This website is partially compliant with the Act on the Accessibility of Digital Public Services, due to the shortcomings described below.
Content that is not accessible
Non-text content WCAG 1.1.1
- There are images that are not described with text. In some cases, these images may be informative, which means that visitors who do not see the image may miss information.
Audio-only and video-only (pre-recorded) WCAG 1.2.1
- There are not always alternatives to audio and video clips.
Subtitles (recorded) WCAG 1.2.2
- There are videos on the website or linked to from the website that are not captioned.
Audio description or media options (pre-recorded) WCAG 1.2.3
- There are videos on the website or linked to from the website that lack audio description or text alternatives.
Audio description (pre-recorded) WCAG 1.2.5
- There are videos on the website or linked to from the website that lack audio description.
Information and relationships WCAG 1.3.1
- There are several empty headings that are actually a line break in an existing heading.
- There are a few pages that contain empty container elements.
Use of colors WCAG 1.4.1
- Links in text are only identified by color in a few places, including fact boxes.
Contrast WCAG 1.4.3
- The color contrast of the orange text arrows " is not high enough.
Changing the text size WCAG 1.4.4
- Text in the personal article is cut off when resized in some browsers
Purpose of a link WCAG 2.4.4
- There are links with no text options.
Label in name WCAG 2.5.3
- Visible label and accessible name are not consistent. In some places it is preamble + heading and the name only the preamble.
Name, role, value WCAG 4.1.2
- There are links without text options
- There are embedded frames without text alternatives (title).
Further problems encountered on the website are
- There are DIVs containing more than 150 characters of text without any other markup code (P, Q, BLOCKQUOTE, etc.).
- There is information generated with CSS which in some cases is not always accessible to assistive technology. E.g. in slideshows.
- For the search function magnifying glass, cues and controls are not linked explicitly and the indication of keyboard focus may be missing in some cases.
- For pages with cards, there may be links that have no text content.
Our ambition is to have fixed all known accessibility issues by the time we change platforms. This work will begin in the fall of 2021 and will hopefully be completed in 2022.
Unreasonably burdensome adaptation
Luleå University of Technology invokes exceptions for unreasonably burdensome adaptation according to Section 12 of the Act on accessibility to digital public service for the following content.
Many of our systems create documents that are not fully accessible. It will take a lot of work to fix all systems and we will not be able to do everything before September 23, 2020, but will continuously be updated according to a priority order.
How we tested the website
The website has been tested several times, including the introduction of responsive design in 2017 by the ETU. We use the Siteimprove tool for ongoing testing of the website's functions and content. DIGG has conducted a simplified monitoring 2021-08-05
