Postdoctoral researcher
Research subject: Construction Management and Building Technology
Division: Industrialized and sustainable construction
Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering
Research Profile
The research broadly focuses on how renovations, energy efficiency measures, installations, and sustainable solutions can affect buildings as systems and interact with their indoor environments. Challenges, consequences, and reasons for renovations are key points, where energy use, comfort and indoor climate, sustainability, and health are goals to be achieved together.
The methods consist of on-site measurements, examination of technical components and installations, as well as calculations and simulations using various types of software. Investigations also includes building performance simulation software such as IDA ICE, which can be extended to deeper levels of detail with CFD solutions to see how specific constructions or installations impact the building at a high-resolution level.
Teaching
Teaching takes place in the courses Building Technology, Building Physics, Energy-Efficient Buildings, and Engineering Computer Tools. Supervision of thesis projects is primarily conducted for students from Civil Engineering Architecture.
