About me
Prakash Chandra Chhipa is a Computer Vision Researcher, Ph.D. Candidate under the supervision of Professor Marcus Liwicki (Machine Learning Group at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden) as principal supervisor and Professor Seiichi Uchida (Human Interface Laboratory, Kyushu University, Japan) and Dr. Rajkumar Saini (Machine Learning Group at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden) as assistant supervisors.
Research Interests: His research philosophy is "Life is too short to label the data" thus his research interest is in reducing the human supervision in learning phenomena. While he mainly focusing on self-supervised representation learning in computer vision for possible improvements and also exploring to adapt the self-supervised learning methods for beyond the natural visual concepts.
Industrial R&D Work Experience: Previously, He has worked on applied research and development in machine learning for 8 years (out of 10) with companies Samsung R&D and Arkray R&D, primarily in computer vision. During the tenure, He has commercialized products in visual media & medical device domain and produced 7 invention disclosures with 14 international patents applications including few granted ones.
Academic Milestone: Prakash has reached midway milestone in Ph.D. journey by succesfully defended licentiate thesis External link. titled 'Self-supervised Representation Learning for Visual Domains Beyond Natural Scenes' in March 2023 and continue to work towards doctoral research thesis.
