Cirkulär resursanvändning och utsläppsminimering - Synergier och målkonflikter i energiomställningen
Overall aim: Straighten out and illustrate complex connections within the energy system and in particular the industrial sector. The focus is on the ‘use of’ and the ‘competition for’ biogenic goods and biogenic CO2, applying system analysis to create better conditions for a transition to a more sustainable society.
Main tasks: i) Improve decision-making tools by developing frameworks to better capture circular flows in TIMES-Sweden, ii) Perform trade-off analysis between different goals, such as resource efficiency, energy efficiency, cost efficiency and reducing the climate impact, iii) Generate a set of scenarios which creates a better understanding of the role of the industry, biomass and material flows in a resource-efficient energy system, and iv) Create a dialogue between public officials who analyze the energy transition and researchers who “model” the energy transition.
Funding: The Swedish Energy Agency (4.2 MSEK)
