Om mig
As of October 2023, I am serving as a visiting professor at 10% capacity at Luleå University of Technology. The remainder of my time is dedicated to my role as a professor in the Division of Environmental Technology and Management at Linköping University, a position I have held since 2003. My research and teaching have consistently focused on EcoDesign/Design for Environment since 1997, on Product Service Systems (PSS)/Integrated Product Service Engineering (IPSE) since 1999, and on Circular Economy (CE) since 2013.
Over the years, I have led several comprehensive research projects related to these fields, always in close collaboration with industry. A notable example of this is the large eight-year research program – Mistra REES – Resource-Efficient and Effective Solutions based on circular economy thinking, which concluded at the end of 2023.
My involvement also extends to international standardization, particularly within ISO, where I have contributed to the development of ISO 14006:2020 – Environmental management systems – Guidelines for incorporating eco-design. I have participated in the development of “IEC 62430:2020 – Environmentally Conscious Design – Principles, requirements and guidance,” both as a technical expert and as the chairman of the Swedish SIS committee handling this work. Currently, I am engaged as a technical expert and chairman of the Swedish SIS committee developing the new international standard series on circular economy (ISO/TC 323), with the first standards expected to start publishing in May 2024.
Since September 1, 2022, I have also been a member of the Swedish government's delegation for the circular economy.
Furthermore, I am an associate editor for the prestigious Journal of Cleaner Production, which is now counted among the top 100 journals. The journal had a CiteScore of 18.5 and an Impact Factor of 11.1 in 2022.
