About me
I am an enthusiastic research scientist, exploring the electrochemical and biochemical interactions of microbes with electrodes, the research field is named as bioelectrochemistry within biochemical process engineering. I obtained my PhD degree in Environmental Technology from Wageningen University, Netherlands in 2016. My PhD research was on Microbial Electrosynthesis of value-added chemicals from CO2. After PhD, I continued my research career as postdocs in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia (2017-2020) and in Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Sweden (2020-2022).
My research deals with the study and development of unique electrochemical interactions of microbes in various electricity-driven and electricity generating bioprocesses. I am interested in the electrochemical control of microbe-material interaction to develop biocatalysts for the processes in bioremediation, CO2 capturing & conversion, and biological resource recovery & valorization. My current research covers bioelectrochemical approaches of plastic waste degradation, acid mine drainage treatments, bioelectricity generation from biological wastes at remote isolated off-grid locations and CO2 electrolysis.
Beside research and family time, I am interested in playing Badminton, Travelling and Photography.
