About me
My research
My research aims towards the development of a method to detect and determine 3D structural deformation and strain inside inhomogeneous materials. The method combines three-dimensional pattern recognition and x-ray microtomography (µCT). The research project covers both the development of a robust microtomography system for three dimensional imaging as well as the development of computer algorithms for the pattern recognition technique, called Digital Volume Correlation (DVC). Therefore my research interests cover both 3D imaging techniques (microtomography, image quality assurance, image artefact correction, etc.) and image correlation techniques (2D and 3D).
In December 2008 I presented my PhD-thesis entitled X-ray Microtomography and Digital Volume Correlation for Internal Deformation and Strain Analysis External link.
