About Me
Glacialle Tiu's research focuses on integrating ore geology and mineral processing to advance the field of geometallurgy. Her expertise lies in the comprehensive characterization of complex ores and the integration of traditional and AI-based analytical techniques to support 3D modeling, simulation, and geometallurgical modeling. She is deeply engaged in digital education, developing gamified and interactive platforms to communicate the mineral value chain and sustainability principles.
Her key areas of specialization include:
- Geological characterization and geometallurgical modeling of complex polymetallic ores
- Application of machine learning and data fusion in real-time ore tracking
- 3D geological modeling and simulation using advanced software tools
- Design and implementation of digital and gamified learning systems in mining education
- Multiscale analytical instrumentation, mineral processing, and ore variability assessment
Glacialle earned her Ph.D. in Ore Geology from Luleå University of Technology (LTU), where she focused on the geometallurgy of the Lappberget Zn-Pb-Ag-(Cu-Au) deposit in Sweden. She has led and contributed to various industry- and EU-funded projects and is committed to fostering collaboration between academia and the mining sector for a more sustainable future.
