About me
Christian Holmberg Sjöling is a PhD student in English and Education and a part of the doctoral school PROFS (Practice-based Educational Research) at the Department of Health, Education and Technology at Luleå University of Technology. He started his PhD studies in January 2022.
Christian’s project is situated in subject didactics/corpus linguistics and is concerned with the assessment of Swedish upper secondary school students’ written texts with a particular focus on linguistic complexity and high-stakes EFL exames.
He also teaches English courses within the teacher-training programme and stand-alone English language courses.
Christian is a member of The Swedish Society for the Study of English (SWESSE), was the chairperson of the PhD Student Association at Luleå University of Technology (LTU) and doctoral representative on the university board of LTU between autumn 2022 to spring 2024. During the academic year of 2024/2025, he is a visiting research scholar at Northern Arizona University, USA.
