About me:
I am a Senior Research Engineer specializing in Process Metallurgy, with a close focus on the pyrometallurgical processing of primary and secondary resources. My work bridges academic research and industrial application, aiming to develop more sustainable and efficient methods for extracting and recycling metals.
Research:
My research philosophy centers on transforming raw materials and waste streams into valuable products, with a strong emphasis on circular economy principles in the metallurgical sector. My current research interests:
- Ironmaking and green transition
- Non-ferrous metal extraction
- Slag valorization and by-product utilization
- Recycling of complex end-of-life materials
Education:
My academic journey began in Egypt, where I earned a B.SC. in Chemistry (2004) from the Faculty of Science, Zagazig University (2004). I then pursued a M.SC. in Process Metallurgy (2009), focusing on recovering valuable metals from electric arc furnace dust. I completed my Ph.D. in Process Metallurgy in 2015, developing a novel technology to synthesize Fe-TiC from Egyptian titanium ores. Both my master's and doctoral research were conducted at the Central Metallurgical Research & Development Institute (CMRDI).
