Responsibilities
I provide guidance and support throughout the grant application process, with a particular focus on selected national funders such as Formas, Vinnova, and the Swedish Research Council, as well as calls within Horizon Europe, especially Pillar 2 (Clusters 3, 4, and 5) and Pillar 3. My support is available to researchers at all career stages – from junior researchers and postdoctoral fellows to established professors – and includes:
- Identifying relevant calls that match the research area and project idea
- Assisting in developing and structuring research ideas in line with call requirements
- Providing continuous support throughout the application process, including reviewing and giving feedback on proposals
- Advising and assisting with strategic calls where the university acts as the lead applicant
Background
I began my doctoral studies in Wood Science and Technology in Skellefteå in 2008 and obtained a double doctoral degree in 2011 from Luleå University of Technology and Université de Lorraine in Nancy, France.
With over sixteen years of experience as a researcher and university lecturer at LTU, I have developed a deep understanding of how demanding, complex, and time-consuming research funding can be. I have also worked in industry, which has given me a practical perspective on the societal role of research and on how collaborations between academia and industry can be strengthened.
Between 2011 and 2025, prior to joining the Grants Office, I successfully applied for funding multiple times from national funders such as Formas, Vinnova, the Kempe Foundations, and Labfonden, and participated in applications to Horizon Europe. Today, I also lead my own research project in Wood Technology, funded by Formas, at KTH (20% project leadership and some active research), which allows me to maintain close and ongoing contact with both doctoral students and researchers.
My experiences – from industry work to roles as a researcher and advisor – have provided me with genuine insight into researchers’ needs and the practical challenges involved in grant applications. I am eager to share this knowledge in my role as Research Advisor at the Grants Office.
