Oscar Björk

About me

Oscar Björk holds a position of senior lecturer in Swedish and education. His primary teaching responsibilities lie within the Swedish language courses offered in the teacher education program at the Department of Health, Learning, and Technology. In 2023, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis at Uppsala University, wherein he explored the topic of young children's early school writing. This exploration incorporated key elements of social semiotics, dialogic approaches, and critical perspectives related to writing and writing instruction.

Björk's research also encompasses the realm of emerging subject-specific writing, or emergent disciplinary literacies, and takes interest in its place within the context of subject-specific teaching practices.
