About me
After PhD studies on stability of frames for Professor Bernt Johansson at LTU, I started designing composite bridges at Scandiaconsult (later Ramboll) in 1992. Besides composite bridges I also designed wooden bridges as well as Scandinavias first bridge made out of stainless steel. In 1993-1994 I also worked with writing codes for the Oresund Bridge, the first time EuroCode 3(steel structures) and EC 4(composite structures) were used for a major project.
Besides designing bridges I have brought six European R&D projects to Ramboll Luleå, where we also built real bridges with new concepts, which LTU monitored to learn more. I was also appointed by CEN convenor for SC 4/WG3 on Composite Bridges, collecting comments and suggestions on the existing EC 4-2. I also contributed to the rules concerning stability in EC 3.
Since 2007 I am professor at LTU, and I had many projects on composite bridges. I also teach in our course on composite steel/concrete bridges, where the students get to re-design the bridge over Sävarån that I originally designed in 1998.
Together with my good friends at Eurokodutbildningar I also plan and arrange courses for house designers and bridge designers. From 2027, we also expect to give courses on the new Eurocodes.
