About me
Shijil is a Ph.D. student in the subject Chemistry of Interfaces at Luleå University of Technology.
Training
- PhD student, Chemistry of interfaces, Luleå University of Technology, Sweden (current)
- Master of Science in Chemistry, Cochin University of Science and Technology, CUSAT, India, 2019
Research Interests
Shijil is currently pursuing his PhD in Chemistry of Interfaces, Chemical Engineering, where his research centers on the development of advanced electrode materials for batteries and supercapacitors.
His work focuses specifically on repurposing pyrite tailings sourced from Boliden mines, aiming to transform this waste material into valuable components for energy storage devices.
As a member of the SUN (Natural resources for sustainability transitions) Graduate School, Shijil actively contributes to the establishment of a dynamic interdisciplinary research environment.
Shijil's research interests span across
- Electrochemistry,
- Material science, and
- Energy storage technologies, including batteries, supercapacitors, and fuel cells
