Finance and grants
Study grants via CSN
The most common way to finance your studies is with state study grants, which you apply for via CSN, the Swedish Board of Student Finance. Student finance consists of student grants and student loans.
If you become ill, it is important that you get sick leave to avoid problems with your student finance.
If you intend to interrupt your studies on a program or course, it is important that you contact CSN and notify them of any changes.
Information on how to interrupt a course/program to notify Luleå University of Technology can be found via the link below.
Information on how to apply for student aid and how much you can get can be found on CSN's website.

Insurance
As a student, you are insured during school hours, and during direct travel between home and school, via Kammarkollegiet's personal injury insurance. Personal injuries through accidents, as well as some cases of illness through infection, are covered by the insurance.
Remember to take out leisure and home insurance yourself in order to have comprehensive insurance cover.
The insurance applies to students and doctoral students at state universities. It corresponds to the accident cover provided by the occupational injury insurance. Personal injury insurance for students is valid in Sweden and covers accidents during school hours and for travel between home and the place where school is held.
