The selection is based on 20-285 credits



Course Aim

 This course will give you knowledge regarding open pit and underground mining methods and design. At the end of the course you will be able to:

 - Apply your knowledge of geologic, geotechnical, and orebody-related parameters in conjunction with known production demands and economic requirements to determine the appropriate mining method for a given orebody.

- Select suitable mining equipment for a given method and production demand.

- Develop basic surface and underground mine designs.

- Understand aspects of mine safety.

- Doing basic mining project investment analysis

Underground mining methods.

Selection of suitable equipment.

Mine safety: ventilation and air conditioning, noise

Mining project investment analysis.


Realization
This course will consist of classroom lectures, assignment reports, group projects, small group presentations, and peer-reviewed writing. All assignments are mandatory

Examination

Written assignments and exam with differentiated grades, F, 3, 4, 5.
