In this course you will learn how to apply design methods to create products and surroundings in the digital world of the computer. We use powerful software for surface modelling to create good models and visualize them in a realistic way.
You need no prior experience from 3D modelling and will learn much more than you would think. You will have reached a high level in your work after the course. The course mixes lectures, exercises and pure working classes in addition to working on your assignments on your own time. There are six assignments in the course. The first three are step-by-step based where you follow clear instructions with the purpose to rapidly understand how the software works. The final three assignments you design yourself from given general criteria. The assignments are presented as images, renderings, where you visualize the assignments in the best way regarding modelling, nice textures and materials and light settings. Surface modelling is often used for advanced surface geometries, eg in car industry and when designing consumer products.
