The Swedish Construction Federation and Luleå University of Technology to accelerate innovation and development in the construction industry
The Swedish Construction Federation and Luleå University of Technology have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of accelerating innovation and development in the fields of sustainability, industrialisation, management, digitalisation and AI in the construction industry.
“Innovation and development are essential drivers of economic progress and the industrial green transition. This collaboration agreement with Luleå University of Technology is important to further develop the industry and is an opportunity to achieve the overall climate goals and continue building Sweden on a sound basis,” says Catharina Elmsäter-Svärd, CEO of The Swedish Construction Federation.
The expectations of the collaboration agreement are:
- a closer collaboration between the construction industry and Luleå University of Technology with the aim of contributing to skills transfer and industry development;
- a greater number of research and development projects and increased collaboration within these projects;
- reduced administration and a faster implementation of future research projects and education;
- an opportunity for both parties to develop through learning and sharing of skills and resources.
The collaboration agreement formalizes and deepens an already ongoing collaboration between the Swedish Construction Federation and Luleå University of Technology, in which research and education aspects have been addressed.
“The University only sees benefits of such a collaboration with the Swedish Construction Federation. This means that our research and education remain relevant in construction industry. Our students become more attractive on the labour market and research has a clear focus and achieves results that can be put into practice and be very useful,” says Charlotte Wiberg, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Collaboration at Luleå University of Technology.
