About me
Ali Beryani's research field is about sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) and integrated management of surface water and groundwater. Ali's current research focuses on stormwater quality assessments, risk assessment of stormwater discharges, and low-impact, nature-based stormwater treatment systems. Ali's other areas of research interest include improving stormwater quality management by integrating advanced monitoring, treatment, and modeling approaches for emerging contaminants, including micropollutants such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
Ali holds a Ph.D. in Urban Water Engineering and an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources. During his PhD studies, he focused on Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs), particularly the performance of bioretention (or biofilter) facilities for stormwater treatment, concerning micropollutant removal and climate adaptation. In his previous research, he surveyed the remediation applications and risks of nanoparticles for groundwater treatment.
