About me
MSc in Architecture and PhD in Preservation of Architectural Heritage, Politecnico di Milano, Italy, Andrea’s research focuses on the sustainable management and renovation of built heritage and historic environments.
During the years, his work has ranged from the analysis of the indoor climate in historic buildings and museums to the assessment of different energy retrofitting strategies on built heritage. On these topics he has contributed to and coordinated several research projects funded by the Swedish Energy Agency.
Since he moved to Luleå University of Technology in northern Sweden in 2017, he has broaden his interests to how local historic mining towns and built environments are transforming under the pressure of resource extraction activities.
During 2020, his engagement on these topics, together with his interest in the conservation of modern architecture, were the focus of his fellowship at Arkdes on Erskine’s work in the mining town of Svappavaara.
