About me
I hold a Master of Science degree in Ergonomic Design and Production and have a PhD in Engineering Psychology. I am employed as a senior lecturer in psychology and, in addition to that, I serve as the deputy head of education for the Department of Health, Medicine, and Rehabilitation (HMR) at HLT.
Teaching
As a teacher, I am engaged, attentive, curious, and organized. I am dedicated to ensuring that my students develop during their time with us and receive the best possible foundation for their future careers. As a senior lecturer, I teach within the Psychology Bachelor's program, the Master of Science program in Industrial Design Engineering, standalone courses, and commissioned education. I teach subjects such as introduction to psychology, social psychology, work psychology, and engineering psychology (human-machine interaction). In my role as deputy head of education (Dep. HUL), I support the head of education (HUL), the head of division HMR, and several program directors within the Health area. This role allows me to work with strategic issues to enhance development, quality, and student throughput within the education at the institution and the HMR department.
Courses I teach:
- Introduction to Psychology, program course in the Psychology Bachelor's program (course coordinator, examiner)
- Engineering Psychology, program course in the Psychology Bachelor's program (course coordinator, examiner)
- Social Psychology: Psychological Perspectives, program course in the Psychology Bachelor's program
- Work and Motivation Psychology, program course in the Psychology Bachelor's program (examiner)
- Introduction to Psychology, standalone distance course (course coordinator)
- Work Psychology, standalone distance course (course coordinator, examiner)
- Human-Machine Interaction, program course in Industrial Design Engineering (Master of Science)
- Usability, elective course in Industrial Design Engineering (Master of Science)
- Ergonomics and Cognition, program course in Industrial Design Engineering (Bachelor's degree)
- Human-Machine Interaction, commissioned course for Work Environment Engineers
- Work Psychology 1 - with a focus on project management, standalone commissioned course (course coordinator, examiner)
Research
As a researcher, I am creative, curious, methodical, structured, and dedicated. I am interested in issues related to human-machine interaction and psychosocial factors. My dissertation focused on attention and distraction when using multimodal interfaces in cars. After earning my PhD, I continued research on human-machine interaction and methodological development within the automotive industry. I have also expanded my research to other topics and environments. Several research projects have focused on workers' digital tools and wearable sensors in the mining and process industries. In these projects, I have worked on questions concerning usability, efficiency, safety, acceptance, and privacy. The ongoing digital development continuously creates new relationships between humans and technology, which we need to research further to understand their potential effects, both desirable and undesirable. Related to this, I am particularly interested in generative AI and human-robot interaction as research areas.
Recent research projects:
- Working environment of control room operators: Investigating stressors in low- and high-intensity control room environments (Swedish Transport Administration)
- SIMS: Investigating attitudes towards positioning technology for tracking personnel in mining environments
- Quicktag: Implementation of a mobile application for tasks such as inspections (Boliden)
- The Future Operator: Investigating and developing new digital tools for future operators (LKAB, Boliden)
- MODAS: Developing a method to measure trust in highly automated vehicles
- Life on board: Investigating the usability of future gear selectors in vehicles
