I am an Associate Professor of Human Work Science with a specialization in gender, work, and organization, often focusing on male‑dominated industries and processes of industrial transformation.
In my research, I combine practice‑oriented analyses with theoretically driven ambitions. This includes collaborating with companies to explore how safe, attractive, and inclusive workplace cultures can be created – and using these insights to deepen our understanding of organizational inequality regimes; gender, safety, and masculinity; and intersectional equality. A related line of inquiry examines socially sustainable supply chains, which theoretically connects to questions of fragmentation and inter‑organizational relations.
Since completing my PhD in 2015, I have led and participated in around fifteen research projects funded by, among others, Vinnova, FORTE, EIT RawMaterials, the Swedish Retail and Wholesale Council, the Regional Structural Fund, and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. I serve on the steering group for LTU’s strategic research area SUN – Natural Resources for Sustainable Societal Transformation, and I have experience as a programme director. I am also Chair of the national research network FALF – Forum för arbetslivsforskning (Swedish Forum for Working Life Research).
In undergraduate education, I am responsible for courses in sociology, gender, and equality, including S0069A Social Stratification: Class, Gender and Ethnicity and S0049A Advanced Sociological Theory. I also lead the university‑wide doctoral course FOR050F Gender and Equality. Supervision is a central part of my academic work, and I have served as assistant or principal supervisor for several recently graduated PhD students, including Klara Rydström and Samuel Heimann. My current doctoral students are Isa Larsson and Wilhelm Franklin Tosser.
