Mashreki Sami's research focuses on the treatment of greywater for recycling and reuse for urban landscaping using decentralized treatment systems. The research will emphasize on resource recovery and quality of the effluent for reuse.
With research interest in water security, Mashreki has completed his master's degree in Infrastructure and Environmental Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology. His Master's thesis focused on effective sensor placement for smart water distribution network.
Mashreki started his PhD in the Urban Water Engineering group at LTU from February 2020. Initially he will study existing decentralized greywater treatment technologies used in source-separating sanitation systems to compare the costs between a centralized and a decentralized treatment system. Moreover, he will work on developing a pilot-scale green wall for greywater treatment and urban landscaping.
