About me
Since 2022 I am a PhD Student within fluid mechanics, where my work focuses on the flow of a hydrogen jet inside the rotary kiln used when producing iron ore pellets. The goal of the work is to explore the possibility of exchanging the fossil fuel used in the current rotary kiln for a more sustainable fuel such as hydrogen. This is done primarily through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, where the flow field and mixing of fuel and process air is studied when a so-called coaxial jet is used to inject the hydrogen.
