Erasmus+
You can apply for an Erasmus+ scholarship for internship or thesis work at a company, authority or organization in Europe. You must be a registered student at LTU, internship (full-time) between 2-12 months, the internship must also be approved by your institution (however, it does not have to be creditworthy).
You cannot receive more scholarships from the EU or the Swedish Council for Higher Education at the same time.
You can receive an Erasmus+ scholarship for a maximum of 12 months of study and/or training per level of education (Bachelor/Master).
The scholarship varies between 550-710 Euro/month.
Organizations that are not eligible to host traineeships for outgoing students from Sweden:
- EU institutions and other EU bodies: http://europa.eu/institutions/index_en.htm
- Organizations managing EU programmes
- Higher education institutions mainly financed by EU funds (e.g. European University Institute in Italy and Collage of Europe in Belgium and Poland).
Scholarship applications are processed regularly, with the exception of the June-August period.
June 20 is the deadline for traineeship applications for the June-August period.
To apply for an Erasmus traineeship grant, please complete the "Application for an Erasmus traineeship grant" and the "Learning Agreement" below.
The application must be made before the traineeship starts.
Green Travel Erasmus+
If you travel by train, bus or car pool at least half of the distance in both directions (from sending university to receiving traineeship organisation), you qualify for a top-up to your scholarship. If you choose to make stop-overs in other countries during your journey, make sure that you have valid insurance. The insurance provided by LTU (Student OUT) is only valid in the country where you will study/do the training and during as direct travel there as possible. The top-up is currently 50 EUR plus the extra days that it takesto travel is added to the scholarship (max 6 travel days total).
Support for students with disabilities and students with children
Participants with children or students with disabilities going on Erasmus+ exchange program are eligible for top-ups on their scholarships. It is also possible to apply for extra financial support to cover additional specific costs. The financial support is available only for participants with documented needs and students with children (regardless if the children come along during the exchange or not). Financial support could be granted for costs such as a note taker, sign language, psychotherapy, special transportation, higher costs for accommodation, and similar. Contact the International Office and/or coordinators for students with disabilities for more information.
