Tutorials
At the University Library, you can receive tutoring to help you get started or move forward in your search and writing process. You can attend drop-in tutoring sessions in Luleå or submit a tutoring question online. Express tutoring is also available, with bookable times each week for shorter questions.
Things to consider

- Prepare in advance.
- Tutoring does not include proofreading of texts or assignments.
- You are responsible for reviewing your entire assignment.
Tutoring – how does it work?
Tutoring is adapted to where you are in your search and writing process and to your specific questions. It can take place in different ways: drop-in sessions on campus, by email, or through a booked appointment.
Drop-in tutoring at the University Library in Luleå is available Monday to Friday, 9.30–16.30. You can receive support in finding relevant information for an essay, degree project, or other academic work. For example, you can get help with identifying keywords, choosing databases, searching in databases, writing and interpreting references, and evaluating the quality of articles and books.
You can also submit a question to get started or move forward in your search and writing process. After you submit your question, you will receive feedback based on your needs.
For tutoring in academic writing, you may be asked to submit a text of up to one A4 page. You will receive feedback and suggestions on how to continue your work.

Tutoring in searching and referencing is intended for students, doctoral students, and researchers who need support to move forward with a search or referencing task. Searches for systematic reviews are not included.

You can receive tutoring in Swedish or English in writing methods and presentation skills.
Writing methods, for example:

- Structuring a text
- Revising a text
- Language and style
Presentation techniques, for example:
- Planning and structuring a presentation
- Receiving feedback on a presentation you are preparing
- Creating a clear and effective PowerPoint
Tutoring is mainly intended for undergraduate students. Master’s students and doctoral students can also submit a tutoring question.

New time slots are published every Monday. The number of available slots may vary from week to week.
