Luleå University of Technology in Piteå

At the School of Music in Piteå at Luleå University of Technology, we educate music teachers and musicians in diverse genres of music. The Piteå campus also offers programs in journalism and audio technology .

The School of Music was founded in 1978 as a further development of the music programs at Framnäs folk high school, and has always been a part of Luleå University of Technology, Piteå campus. Other highlights of the university campus in Piteå include one of Northern Europe’s most modern concert halls Studio Acusticum, which is located in the same building as the music facilities.

There are two student housing areas in Piteå. Both are within a 10-15 minute walk from the campus. The larger of the two, located on Ankarskatavägen road, is also called "Ankars" and is managed by housing agency Pitebo.  The smaller of the two is located on Bäckgatan road and is also about 10-15 min from the school, on the opposite side of campus as Ankars and closer to downtown Piteå. The Bäckgatan complex is more newly built than Ankars and is managed by Lindbäck's Real Estate company.
