Basic knowledge in design processes and design theories matching the courses Design: process and method (D0030A) 15 credits as well as Design: theory and practice (D0037A) 15 credits or Design: Interaction and prototypes (D0039A) 15 credits, or equivalent knowledge.

Course Aim
After the course students will know how to analyse, deal with problems of form, shape and colour from different perspectives. Show in-depth knowledge of norm-critical perspectives on product aesthetics and product semiotics.
Demonstrate ability to apply norm-critical and norm-creative perspectives in design projects.

2D,3D visual analysis, colour analysis and composition applied on experimental studies. Semantic and aesthetic aspects in designing.

Lectures, laboratories and seminars. In the course theories from the lectures are practiced as experimental assignments performed individually. Assignments are presented in seminars. In the course students have to
Design and produce a work book  that summarize the course content

If there is a decision on special educational support, in accordance with the Guideline Student's rights and obligations at Luleå University of Technology, an adapted or alternative form of examination can be provided.
Presentations in discussion seminars, approved exercises and assignments. Examination I based on how the assignments are performed, how they are presented and how well the student have used theories. In the work book the student must show the process behind the result and reflect on the results from the assignments and on the course as a whole.

Students must register for the courses themselves, or contact ETS educational administration, not later than three days after the quarter commences. Failure to do so can result in the place being lost. This rule also applies to students with a guaranteed place.
