Being a student at the Master Programme in Data Science means engaging in an active search for knowledge, problem solving, and critical analysis based on a scientific approach. You will learn how to manage and analyze big data, as you will have a combination of knowledge and skills in data science.

This programme aims at developing your statistical, decisional, and analytical skills. It also equips you with hands-on skills in order to solve business problems, be innovative, support digitalization, and monetization. The objective is to prepare candidates to become data scientists and analysts ready to pursuing careers in both private and public sectors. It also offers “tailor-made form of education” via its flexibility and blended offering of in-class and online. Lastly, the program will act as a forum to link us to our industrial as well as academic partners in Sweden and European-wide.

Description

In this programme, students learn business intelligence, advanced data mining, data visualization, predictive analytics and data science programming. During the first round of courses, the students learn business intelligence and advanced data mining. During the second round, text analytics and visualization techniques. In the third, students learn predictive analytics and data science programming language and finally, they write their thesis on a data science topic. The programme equips students with knowledge and hands-on skills, with focus on supporting the decision making process in organizations. The educational methods vary between individual study, labs, group work, projects, case studies, seminars, and lectures.

The program prepares you to become a data scientist, data analyst; business intelligence consultant; and the other relevant job titles. In a nutshell, the programme’s profile enables you to work in managing and analyzing enormous amounts of data, since you will have a combination of knowledge and skills in data science.
