Master Programme in Music Performance

In his Programme you have the ability to grow and deepen your music creation with a personal expression in a high professional level and reflect on musically artistic issues related to your future activities in the field of music.

The studies on the master programme in Music Performance give you as a practicing Classical Musician, Jazz Musician, Rock Musician, Conductor and Composer, an ability tp perform and examine music in a inspriering academic envronment. This allows you as a musician to get more and deeper expressions for a professional career.The studies in the master's programme also give you knowledge of international artistic activities in the field of music. Artistic master require that you already have an artistic bachelor's degree.

Description

The program comprises two years of full-time study and is taught in English, individual instruction is in English and Swedish.

During the second academic year  an artistic thesis is presented in both musical and written form. As part of the seminars, ongoing thesis works will also be presented in words and music.   

Those parts of the education that are common to all specializations, are concentrated to approximately 9 weeks during the academic year, called master  weeks, where teachers in the program as well as guest lecturers participate, and in which all students  actively take part.

The teaching during these weeks is partly divided between first-year and second-year students, partly common to all. The common seminars deal with issues related to musical creation and interpretation.

We offer a fine academic environment, excellent practicing opportunities, extremely up to date equipment for recording and a exceptional concert hall , Studio Acusticum.

At the department and campus Piteå we educate, besides Musicians, also Music Teachers, Dance Teachers, Audio Engineers, TV Producers, Radio Producers, Event Producers and Journalist.
