The course Legal Regulation and Privacy aims at those who want to acquire a basic understanding of EU legislation related to information security and how these rules are applied in practice.
The course combines theoretical elements with practical case studies where you will work with real-life scenarios. The content covers a relevant selection from legislation affecting information security issues, such as identifying legal requirements related to information assets and security incidents, responsibilities of organisations and rights of individuals.
Through lectures and seminars as well as individual and group work, you will learn key elements of information security legislation and to exemplify its impact on information asset management in an organisational context. You will also learn the basics of data protection and how security incidents should be handled from a legal perspective and the obligations to notify authorities about information security incidents.
