Structural Mechanics I

The course is generally about the determination of section forces and displacements in statically determinate and indeterminate 2-dimensional structures. The course comprises section forces and displacements by the displacement method, force method, and energy methods. It also deals with section forces and stresses due to torsion in elements with circular cross-sections, section forces of live loads with influence lines, principal moments of inertia for symmetrical and unsymmetrical cross-sections, and stresses due to skew bending.
