Operation and Maintenance Engineering

Every engineered product degrades with age and usage and can fail. When a failure occurs, the severity of the consequences can be very significant – leading to safety, environmental, operational or economic consequence. This course is designed to give you the knowledge to identify maintenance requirements of an equipment, perform reliability analysis, assess related risks of failures and describe the role of the human factor in a safe and effective maintenance operation. You will also gain knowledge about how maintenance strategies and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) can be applied so that you can participate in the development of effective maintenance programs.

The course is based on classroom lectures, group discussions and project assignment and will be assessed based on a final written exam and the project assignments during the course.
